Who doesn’t love a good pizza? The problem is finding a good one!

We’re all tried the fast food pizzas, the stodgy, heavy and greasy ones. The ones that you leave you feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Usually, I can only manage a few slices of these pizzas before I can’t eat anymore.

When Franco Manca opened its doors in the neighbourhood, I had never heard of them. Since it’s arrival, I’ve walked past it several times and each time I did it was constantly full of customers whatever day it was. To me, this was a good sign. Franco Manca specialise in sourdough pizzas and I was curious to try them. I hadn’t had one of these before and I had no idea what it would taste like.

Franco Manca create their sourdough pizzas using fresh ingredients, baked in a wood burning oven at 500°. “The slow levitation and blast cooking process lock in the flour’s natural aroma and moisture giving a soft and easily digestible crust.” Having never eaten an entire pizza on my own before, I was surprised I ate the whole thing myself. It was delicious, light and fulfilling. I love it so much that I don’t even feel like eating any other pizza now. My favourite is number 2 on the menu, sourdough pizza made with tomato, mozzarella and basil with extra mushrooms. I have this with their organic olive chilli oil, it’s hot and has a strong kick to it but it’s so good. They also have an organic olive garlic oil which is equally good, but the chilli oil is my favourite and the one I have the most with my pizza.

I also love that they only feature organic wine, it’s affordable and tasty. The deserts are delicious too. I haven’t made my way through all the deserts available yet but I would strongly recommend trying them. In short, everything on the menu is nothing short of yummy.

Franco Manca is my number one go to place for pizza, whether it’s eating in or eating out. It always hits the spot and doesn’t seem to ever disappoint. It’s a winner for me!
